SIG, update 12.08.08

SIG has been covering facts on the ground in Rwanda and Burundi. In Rwanda the main focus was the past and present history of the 1994 genocide and Forces Democratiques de Liberation du Rwanda (FDLR), security threats to the country. In Burundi the company covered the newly signed peace treaty between the government and the rebel force Palipehutu-Forces for National Liberation (FNL).

SIG Advanced Diving Course in November, update 28.07.08
This is a two part course to qualify SIG divers. The first course is a standard PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Diver. These courses are in cooperation with the firm Dykkerhuset in Moss. The second one is the SIG Sea Marshals standard diving course, which contains the use of underwater communication gear (AGA/KMB) and other advanced disciplines. SIG, update 03.02.08
SIG has conducted an assessment survey in South- Central Africa. The operators has been seeing and feeling the effects of heavy rainfall and flooding in the area. The operators have concluded their report for the client.

SIG documentary TV2, update 01.11.07

SIG was featured in a documentary on Norwegian National TV. Group Managing Director Torgeir Friksen and Operation Training Manager Anders Sorensen, appeared in an exclusive interview with Document 2. They where answering to allegations made forward by the Norwegian Police, that the SIG had conducted Black Operations (assassinations) in Afghanistan, on behalf of the United States Government. The documentary was shown Monday 5th of November.

SIG Communication Course, update 23.10.07
In February 2008 SIG will hold a radio communication course. One will learn about UHF, VHF and HF systems, communication procedures, frequencies, radio technology and more.

SIG internal High Risk Medic Training, update 14.10.07
Week 42 SIG held an internal medic training
course as preparation of SIG personnel going to High Risk
regions. These courses will be available, in the
near future, for customers and other personnel who
have completed the SIG CPO course.

SIG SWAT CAT Training Course, update 25.09.07
In February/March 2008 SIG will hold a SWAT
CAT training course in Italy. This is a very
physically hard and a mentally demanding course.
Candidate requirements:
 - No criminal record, good conduct
 - Calm and balanced
 - Good health and shape
 - Good weapons experiences
 - 21 years of age
 - Background from military/police/rescue units (or operative)

SIG Sea Marshals (SSM) and SIG Air Marshals (SAM), update 30.08.07
SSM/SAM is now operative and has access to 7
airplanes. SIG SSM/SAM can rapidly deploy
teams for port and ship surveillance, as well as
courier services worldwide. Our response time is
from 6 to 24 hours in Europe and from 12 to 48
hours in the rest of the world.

SIG Indonesia, update 18.07.07
SIG got four new operative officers in Indonesia.
This team will provide everything from security
operations to VIP protection.

SIG SSM, update 27.06.07
Three personnel from SSM department are conducting underwater inspection for the inshore oil industry on the West coast of Norway.
The job is to last for the duration of July and will end in August.

SIG, update 22.06.07
SIG is currently involved in securing a deal with a
Central African country on training their armed forces in basic/
advanced military training and CP. We know that our contribution
will help modernize the countries techniques and standards.

SIG (U) Ltd, update 22.04.07
SIG Uganda has been registered as a Ltd firm. Our
services in Uganda, will include anti-poaching,
close protection, security surveys and
 investigation. Our
personnel will consist of mainly Ugandan nationals.
Our personnel will be trained to and international
standard by SIG Security Officers. On operations as
well as in training, the Ugandan personnel will be
assisted by international SIG operators. It is
our mission that our knowlege and services will
provide a positive difference in Uganda, as well as
in armed conflicts and unstable countries in Africa.
